Motion picture footage of television news coverage of the 1960 Republican National Convention at Chicago Illinois. The footage includes the introduction of Goldwater by Arizona Governor Paul Fannin, a brief interview with Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Goldwater (00:14:00) seconds of the nomination by Congressman Bruce Alger of Texas (00:20:45), Gregory D. Shorey of South Carolina (00:24:00), L. Roy Houck of South Dakota (00:29:05) and Congressman John J. Rhodes of Arizona (00:33:08). Goldwater then asks for his name to be withdrawn from the slate (00:36:53). The footage ends just before the vote tally for Nixon is completed.
