Senator Barry M. Goldwater 1964 Presidential Campaign Speeches
The Personal and Political Papers of Senator Barry M. Goldwater (1909-1998) are comprised of 1,180 linear feet of material dating from the late 1880s through 2008. The bulk of the collection includes legislative and campaign records and personal correspondence. Also included are albums, clippings, cartoons, artifacts, memorabilia, microfilm, and audio-visual materials. The collection not only documents the Senator’s political career, but also reflects his personal interests in art, aviation, public and private service, and his love of Arizona.
The speeches made during the 1964 presidential campaign are listed with a title or the subject of the speech. Most speeches do not have a title, so a summary of the subject matter is offered, or in some cases, the opening sentence of the speech is cited.
