In this thesis we deal with the problem of temporal logic robustness estimation. We present a dynamic programming algorithm for the robust estimation problem of Metric Temporal Logic (MTL) formulas regarding a finite trace of time stated sequence. This algorithm not only tests if the MTL specification is satisfied by the given input which is a finite system trajectory, but also quantifies to what extend does the sequence satisfies or violates the MTL specification. The environmental impact of the fossil fuels has increased tremendously in the last decade. This impact is one of the most contributing factors of global warming. This research aims to reduce the amount of fuel consumed by vehicles through optimizing the control scheme for the future route information. Taking advantage of more degrees of freedom available within PHEV, HEV, and FCHEV “energy management” allows more margin to maximize efficiency in the propulsion systems. A principal goal of this dissertation is to study stochastic optimization and real-time scheduling in cyber-physical systems (CPSs) ranging from real-time wireless systems to energy systems to distributed control systems. Under this common theme, this dissertation can be broadly organized into three parts based on the system environments. The first part investigates stochastic optimization in real-time wireless systems, with the focus on the deadline-aware scheduling for real-time traffic.
