Story Summary: The Legend of the Condor Heroes is a wuxia martial arts novel written by Jin Yong (also known as Louis Cha), set during the Song and Jin dynasties. In Chapter 9 of the novel, Gou Jing, who grew up in Mongolia, goes to Taohua Island and is bitten by a venomous snake. Just before he is killed by the snake’s venom, Zhou Botong arrives to rescue him and saves his life. This leads Gou Jing and Zhou Botong to become faithful allies. The two later work together to persuade Huang Laoxie to allow his daughter, Huang Rong, to marry Gou Jing.
