Early Childhood Education/Educare Career Express ECE2: A Program for Retention and Completion of Community College Students in the Area of Child Development

Abstract There is a national shortage of highly qualified early childhood educators. For many early childhood educators, this career path begins with the Child Development Associate credential. Community colleges are well-positioned to award this credential and address the shortage of highly qualified early childhood educators. However, many students arrive at community colleges academically unprepared, with excessive work and family responsibilities.
