In November 2010, Arizona voters passed a ballot initiative making Arizona the fourteenth state to adopt a medical marijuana law. Since the Arizona Medical Marijuana Program went into effect on April 14, 2011, the goal of ADHS was to ensure the development and administration of the pre-eminent program in the country for medical use of marijuana.
